Back to 2016 Spring Conference Presentations
This multimedia production was developed for the STARTALK 2016 Spring Conference by Duarte Silva, Ying Jin, and Claire Albert .
This session focuses on outlining and modeling specific actions that lead to supporting the implementation of successful STARTALK student programs. In essence, it focuses on translating the STARTALK-Endorsed Principles for effective teaching and learning into practice that starts with the design of a sound blueprint (curriculum template) and learning plans that directly address the learning targets established for the participants and the assessment strategies that allow students to demonstrate what they are able to do with the language and culture features that they have acquired. In addition, the session shares other program components that are critical in providing a successful learning experience for the participants and in engaging all stakeholders in supporting and advancing the program's goals both during and beyond the summer learning experience.
