They choose to visit different places in Uttarakhand after learning about special attractions / activities / weather / food / wildlife in 4-5 different cities / towns in Uttarakhand. Students research locations, visiting websites, watching videos / pictures of the region, and exploring the possibility of volunteering in a nature preserve or other situation. Students will make connections with other disciplines through hands on activities, such as math, science, geography, arts, health, and nutrition, by communicating in all three modes of communication - interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational. They will be immersed in cultural practices (such as folk dances, songs, greetings, showing respect to elders), products (such as food, clothing, books, music, movies) of Uttarakhand, and perspectives of native speakers of Uttarakhand by meeting with the members of Uttarakhand Samaj of Greater Chicago, a local community organization of Uttarakhand natives.
