    Summary

    This blended STARTALK program will be a residential summer institute (8 days) with a pre-institute (8 days) asynchronous online module for 20 secondary Chinese language teachers, totaling 60 contact hours. The primary focus of the program is developing professional and program sustainability through the incorporation of effective and engaging learner-centered educational technology. Participants will work with experts and master teachers to learn both theory and practice in three different strands: flipped learning, multi-media learning, and learning outside of the classroom. Most travel expenses and all meals and lodging are covered by the program. Optional three graduate credit hours in Teacher Education are available at the participant's expense.
