- 2016 Bryant University STARTALK Chinese Language and Culture Program, smithfield, RI
Bryant University will offer a two-week STARTALK Chinese Language and Culture Student Program from July 11 to 22 for middle school and high school students in Rhode Island and the neighboring states. No previous Chinese learning experience is required. Participants will be assigned to one of four classes at the following four proficiency levels based on a placement test: Novice Low (one class), Novice Mid (one class), Intermediate Mid (one class), and Advanced Low (one class).
Students will learn and experience Chinese language and culture through intensive language classes and rich cultural workshops and presentations. National standards and best practices will be applied into the language education. Complimentary breakfast and lunch will be provided during this two-week program. At the end of the Program, we expect students to be able to reach the learning goals of the Can-Do Statements in the STARTALK curriculum templates for their respective proficiency level, and bring their STARTALK learning experience back to the school and community.
