STARTALK for Lexington One Schools of the Future

Chinese • June 13, 2011June 24, 2011
  • Lexington High School, Lexington, SC

The primary goals for the STARTALK program are for students to experience Chinese language and culture. We want these learners to recognize the benefits of learning Chinese in today’s world and also to realize that it can be enjoyable and rewarding. Our goal is for learners in this program to begin to see the wonders of Chinese culture through glimpses into their dance, sports, art, opera, sculptures, geography, history etc… and be inspired to want to learn more. We want to them to be able to show a product of their learning through their project that will advocate for themselves and the program that it is possible to learn something communicative, exciting and meaningful inside a week in a language like Chinese.
