Florida STARTALK for Teachers of Chinese, Grades 6-12
The University of Florida will hold an intensive 10-day training program for up to 25 secondary school teachers of Chinese. This residential program on the university campus is open to currently practicing teachers and prospective teachers from anywhere in the United States. Participants will earn a total of 4 credits in Foreign Language Teaching Methods and Chinese Pedagogy. Both courses (EDG 6905 & CHI 4930) meet the Florida State Board of Education requirements for certification in the teaching of foreign languages, and may be used for in-service credit or for degree credit. STARTALK pays 75% of the tuition and covers lodging, lunches, and miscellaneous supplies. Accepted applicants will pay the remainder of the tuition cost through a registration fee of $250.
